Hi, so I came across this post from Endless Japan of their rally car and it appears to have negative caster in the front? The text was saying the rally stage was particularly narrow so maybe that has something to do with it? https://www.facebook.com/endlessadvancecoltd
Has anyone come across a racing reason to flip to some negative caster? Anyone have any insights as to what they might be up to with this setup? In my own testing more positive caster is more gooder to a sane point.
No, it's not running negative caster - it's very common to have the inclination of the spring & damper unit angled like that to get greater suspension travel and/or greater tyre clearance.
The actual pivot point will be placed for the normal positive caster - remember, it's between the top and bottom pivot points, not the angle of the damper assembly.
Negative caster is used in drift very often but I never heard of using it in rally...
