00:11 Fortunately if we are using an electric ring file, because the ring is actually supported on the bed of the ring file, that actually supports that ring, even with the oil ring rails so it doesn't allow it to flex and we can still do a good job.
00:25 Likewise, if we are using a manual ring file, while it is a little bit trickier, because we are grinding with the wheel turning towards us, grinding down onto the bed, that will still work with the oil ring rails but yes granted they are quite flimsy.
00:39 The good news there is that I can only think of a handful of ring sets where I've actually needed to file the oil ring rails.
00:47 As we saw during the lesson, the specs from JE in this particular case give us just a minimum clearance or minimum end gap for our oil ring rails and typically, while you always need to check them, they will actually be over and above that clearance out of the box so usually there's nothing to do there which is lucky.
