He is asking why is the timing MBT.
My french is rather shakey, Eric, but google translate "Because the engine is making best use of the ignition timing, and cylinder pressure, when it is producing the most torque. If it is to early it has more pressure before TDC than after, if it is too late the pressure won't build up fast enough to push the piston as hard."
Perhaps some of the native french speakers can better answer in your language?
