Good evening!
Ive recently installed the DODO racing COP kit into my 99 Lexus GS300, upgrading from the stock wasted spark system that uses an external ignitor. I'm using the EMU black with a PNP harness, utilizing the stock ECU to control the automatic transmission. I have created a harness for the new coils using the instructional video on the DODO racing website. triggers go directly to the EMU, harness has two grounds (for coils 1-3 and then for coils 4-6) and power wires are set up as the video explains. power goes to a 40amp relay which is turned on by a switched 12v, then power wire (with fuse) to a connector bus that is connected to battery. using the recommended dwell table settings from their website, updating coil outputs and ignition settings, I was unable to get the car to catch, it would turn over but would not start. I checked for base timing by locking the ignition angle at 10 and disabling fuel injection. tested with timing light and it was spot on. I then tried loading the dwell settings from my tune with the wasted spark setup and it started! it idles fine, but ignition angle and ignition angle target weren't matching spot on like my previous tune. it had variation from .5 degrees to 2 degrees. Throttle response after the conversion seems hesitant, and I can almost feel less power when I was revving. I'm not sure if I'm missing something. I can try to upload my graph log and scope log along with the tune. I've wired it easily enough that I can revert back to the wasted spark setup until I can get some better idea of what's needed to run the COP kit.
i've never shared a tune on here so hopefully how i upload them will work. If not, could someone explain to me how it's done? thank you
