Hi guys, if the amount of air getting into the combustion chamber depending on the differential of atmosphere pressure and vacuum inside the combustion chamber, then what's the difference on different filters. Such as high performance filters, do they really allow more air into the engine and make more power? Cheers
Hey Cliff, yes, exactly. A free flowing airfilter provides less restriction on the airflow and hence less pressure drop. This provides a larger pressure differential across the valve and hence more airflow. Of course what you can expect in terms of improvement will come down to how bad the original air filter was.
