I had been under the impression that you converted units using 10.5 instead of 10.2. Which one is more correct? I'm not sure why this varies but I had obtained the 10.5 number from the bsfc section and this module says otherwise.
10.5 is the commonly quoted conversion that you're likely to find used by most people and in most places around the internet.
As discussed in this section of the course, it's not strictly possible to convert directly between units of volume and mass without accounting for density first and this is the part most people overlook. The result is that the conversion is a moving target dependent on the current fuel and the temperature of the fuel. For pump fuel 10.2 is more correct however it's still important to realise that it is only going to be an approximation.
