Hi, I see a lot of tuners to change the factory values for the knock sensors. Although it's a common practice, this is the correct to do? The knock frequency can change if we add more boost or change for different turbo on a turbocharged engine?
Knock frequency is tied to cylinder bore diameter. If the bore is changed, if the 2nd order provides better data, or if the original data is imperfect for some reason. Increases in MAP or changes to peripheral hardware are not reasons that the knock frequency would need to be updated.
