Hello, I have an fsae car I am tuning for my school that has a 2008 Yamaha R6S engine and a Nexus R3 for all engine control and PDM functions.
A bit of background, we ran the car on e85 last year however concerns were made about fuel consumption and packaging regarding fuel tank size. The team decided to switch to 93 and I have been building a new map. The previous car on e85 revved to ~11k under load. The current tune won't rev much above 8k, and we have intermittent plateaus seen around 7100. In the attached link should be a screenshot of the relevant issue, another where it revs just fine past that same limit, the map itself, and the data log pulled from the car. Both screenshots were in a straight line pull.
I would love to give more information but am unsure what exactly is relevant here. I know the spark is likely very conservative based on similar spark maps I have seen from these bike engines, but I can't find an exact one for this engine and without a knock sensor I would rather play it safe. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!
