In the course, Andre notes that you typically don't want to set your timing at idle to MBT, but how do you go about dialing in ignition timing at idle, particularly with a large cam?
When I got the car it had been reflashed previously, and it had a LOT of timing advance at idle and low RPM vacuum (between 25-45 degrees of advance). I'd also notice the idle hanging sometimes, could this be related to the ignition timing? The factory idle timing is more in the 12-25 degree of advance range. The car has been fitted with a larger cam and ported cylinder heads, and I'm struggling to understand how this should impact my idle timing settings.
For reference, the car is a 1998 Dodge Viper.
