With that card, it should be at the follower/lifter. If the pushrod is aligned correctly, in line with the follower, it can be much easier to use it as an extension.
It's a hydraulic cam' and you may find it much easier to do it correctly by using a couple of mechanical followers, to double check on both in'and ex', or machine a couple of blanks.
