Not sure if this is even possible, but could one introduce a CAN device from a newer model vehicle to an older model? My personal situation. is putting heated and cooled seats from a 2012 Ford F250 truck into my older 2006 model. I know the new seats are CAN controlled. Was curious if I added both the seats and the control mechanism to my vehicle's CAN, if they would operate properly?
it'd need the master controller(s) as well to retain functionality. if the output messages are the same, then it should work without any problem.
