DBC Software is kinda confusing for most. While outside the scope of this course, I wanted to put links in the forum for those interested in Diving a bit Deeper.
Kvaser DBedit 3 : Simple, Sleek, and to the point with a graphical display of the context.
SaavyCAN : It's an open source swiss army knife of CAN. Allows for live analysis (Interpreted Frames) with the software.
Vector CanDB++ : This is the 'Be all end all' for .dbc files. there is a lot of buttons and they can appear Scary at first. but the majority of them aren't used/needed for dbc creation.
Racelogic VBox Video also allows for .dbc creation, but it certainly is for device support so it's not an ideal candidate even though it works.
Bosch Racecon also allows .dbc creation, but like above, it's more for device support than it is for utilization outside of their work environment.
