Worth a watch. Not a huge amount of detailed tech info in there, but a really good overview of the amount of work required to reverse engineer a CAN system in a modern automobile! Mad respect to the guys to do this on the daily, they legit have mad skillz.

i assume he's using SAE PIDs for logging channel information for certain calculations vs the proprietary information, as I'm able to extract all camshaft and lobe profile by reversing not only the RAW signals, but the 'Enhanced dealer Mode' diagnostic data for my wife's Nissan.
reverse engineered the scantool to then reverse engineer the unknown CAN signals.
