what software you guys use for write all the info?
I've used Microsoft Excel, Rapid Harness, and lately I've been using OpenOffice Draw for layouts.
It really depends how far you want to go with your documentation, not to mention how much you're prepared to spend. For many, excel and some hand drawn diagrams will suffice. If you want to go further, Microsoft Visio is a common option however you'll also need to develop your own templates for the connectors and boots you're going to be using. At the upper end, Harnware from TE Connectivity is the go-to option.
