based on where i am located in the caribbean getting the original connectors may be hard so i may need to cut them off the existing harness and join them onto the haltech harness, what is the best way to connect them, simple soldering and heat shrink?

If i am unable to source the connector is it possible to close or open barrel splice the old connectors by depinning them and running the dr25 over after?
