So i have a question regarding engine break in procedure with no access to a dyno. Is it ok to apply load with the car stationary and rpm's increased as stated in the engine break in procedure video? And then after the required 30 minutes drive it on the road for up to X amount of miles to seat the rings further?
How are you going to increase the load with the car stationary? There is essentially no load when free-reving the engine while stationary.
If you aren't doing this on the dyno, you drive it and increase the load by driving up a hill, or holding your left foot on the brake, while adding throttle (that is engine load). Using higher gears to avoid reving the engine to redline while adding the load.
Doing it in stationary will make it even worse as it will eat the hone quite quickly without rings getting the best shape for best sealing...
