Glyptal is a product I use quiet often on the inside of cylinder heads and internal block surfaces, whilst I’ve never had an issue with flaking/or whereby the product has come away from the surface I am however a little concerned how it would react in the use of an engine running E85. Could someone please maybe shed some light on this particular scinario?

Cheers Mick

I would not use it without an OK from the manufacturer. If you go to their website, http://www.eastwood.com/glyptal-red-brush-on-1-qt.html , there is a disclosure form linked http://www.eastwood.com/images/pdf/46001zp_msds.pdf . If you read it, that form goes back to at least the 1980s, with the date scratched off and re written over 10 years ago in 2006. Meaning: this was developed before E85 was a thing. It says it's about 1/3 Xylene, and I'm not sure how the two interact.
