hello,
im rebuilding my 2jzgte engine myself, just wanted to ask a few questions
- do i have to gap every rings of the piston (oil expander, oil ring top & botom, 1st and 2nd compression ring) according to the specsheet? or i just gap the compression rings

In most instances the oil ring rails 'should' be fine as delivered. You'll find they have a minimum gap that will likely be around 0.015". Provided they're larger than this you can just fit them. The expander. itself never needs any adjustment. Your main efforts will be concentrated on the two compression rings.
