MY goal when learning about CanBus was to break into the ECU of a couple Yamaha ATVs and remap the lean condition many of them suffer from on the bottom of their RPM range. Has anybody been down this road? I was wondering specifically, how to hook up to the ECU while out of the machine. Any info on this topic would be helpful. Thank you.
I would start with obtaining the pinout of the factory ECU. Normally this information can be gleaned from wiring diagrams in factory service manuals for the vehicle. Can you get that information? Usually service manuals are sold through the vehicle dealership parts departments.
