Hello fellow enthusiasts ,

I'm contemplating installing a water meth kit to cool the heat within a valley mount Magnusson blower on an ls3 for sprint day track use.I'd like to set it up between the factory fbw throttle & inject into the blower to remove heat soak when under WOT. .. wondering on pros & cons for those that have done so.

Cheers

Essentially this is a technique used by blown drag engines running a constant flow methanol injection system - They use a set of nozzles pre supercharger. In these applications the fuel is used for two purposes. First it improves the efficiency of the supercharger by improving the seal between the rotating lobes (the liquid fuel helps take up the space between the lobes) and secondly it has the cooling effect on the charge air. The potential problem however is that while blown drag engines don't use intercoolers, your LS3 will (I assume) and I'd be a bit worried about the fuel dropping out of suspension and pooling through the intercooler core. I can't really give you much more to work with as I simply haven't done it. I'd say it's worth testing to see what the results are.

Thanks for your reply Andre,

Got some feed back on this on another forum where they mentioned the possibility of the coating on blower rotors eroding & exposing the base metal. No one could say how much spray was being injected/atomized pre blower which leads me to think assumptions played a role in certain replies to my questions.Anyway mate, when time permits I'll set something up & give it a crack out on the track & collect some data moving forward.

Cheers :)
