With the Link software, does anyone know exactly where to go to add some degrees to the 1jz/2jz VVTi gear at idle? There's some valvetrain noise with the engine at idle, people are saying this is because my upgraded springs are making the VVTi gear chatter and that some more degrees there can help quiet it down at idle?

No, thats not now a VVT actuator works. It sounds more like you have VVT activated at idle when there is insufficient oil pressure for control. For a JZ the VVT would usually be locked out until about 1200-1500RPM where oil pressure becomes more stable. Duty will be zero when locked out.

A quick test would be to unplug the solenoid at idle, if the chatter disappears then you have a settings issue. If the chatter remains then you have a mechanical issue.
