ANN or Neural Network is a required when you phase a camshaft to calculate the VE at different camshaft angles. Weather you use ANN or standard SD tuning will depend on your camshaft & if you have the phased locked ( no movement ) or limited where you can still command varying degrees of camshaft(s) advance or retard
