Hello, this is my first post on this forum .
I have a freshly built m50b28 with 9:1 compression ratio after the original engine (stock m50b20 turbo) blew up after a year of abuse.
The problem im facing is that i get what sounds to me knock at very conservative timing levels, and i mean very conservative- 4-5 degrees at 150kpa 3500 rpm onwards. No matter how much i retard the timing or add fuel . I always get audible knock via my plex v3 knock monitor.
Yes ive checked basetiming
Yes ive checked that timing doesnt change with rpm
Yes the tdc marking on the pulley is actual TDC
Yes i have brandnew flowmatched 980cc bosch injectors
I would really appreciate if you guys have any tips. Maybe my ears are deceiving me and im hearing knock that isnt even there?
I would post the plex log file but it doesnt allow me to so youll get a screen recording with bad quality instead...
If the data on the file you posted is right, it shows that you had more than the 4-5 degrees of timing when there was an audible knock
Also what type of fuel are you running and what does your spark plugs say? For sure that is knock that you are hearing.
