HI i have recently bought myself some Phormula knock detection which comes with its own knock sensor. My question is can i use the factory fitted knock sensor or is the knock detection calibrated to its own sensor. i dont have a problem using the sensor thats supplied with the kit but i am limited with fitting location and i would have to remove the factory fitted one to install it. The connector / wire thats on the knock detection is the same as my factory fitted one.

I did a test and once tried to use the OEM knock sensor on a RB26 with my Plex Knock Monitor and it was awful. I had crazy reading on the display as soon as I started the engine and when I removed the audio filter I could only hear a big whining sound.
Maybe newer OEM uses wideband knock sensors but in my experience I would only use the ones adapted for the Plex.
