Hello all, new member here.
I’m planning to install a 1.2 Way plate type LSD into my 2022 AZ swift sport, which is my daily driver but is seeing about 6 track days this year.
The LSD manufacturer recommends using their own blend 75w80 or 75w90 GL5 gear oil (Which I know has the additives / modifiers for higher pressures for LSDs). But the OEM gearbox oil spec is 75w80 GL4.
Will using GL5 oil cause any damage or long term effects to the gearbox side of things? Or make shifting feel worse in any way?
Only thing to check is that the GL5 is compatible with your syncronisers.
IIRC, one of the additives for a plate type LSD is an anti-foaming agent, so a LSD diff' oil would be the way to go.
