I just wonder why we don't set our rev limit at the max. torque, in this example at 4500 rpm, as that will ensure we produce the maximum torque at wot. As drifters actually hold the accelerator pedal all the way down and what they actually require is maximum torque.
What do you guys think !?
When you're actually on the limiter we actually need less torque to prevent the engine rpm increasing. With the wheels spinning it requires a lot less engine torque in order to maintain engine rpm, hence the fuel or ignition cut that's used to prevent the rpm increasing which also has the effect of reducing torque.
