Hey guys,
in my last post I was having issues with Ignition timing. All of this has been sorted out in the mean time.
Now the engine has been running already and besides having a high idle at first, it ran perfectly fine.
Now I wanted to start the engine again after a few days to check wether a cold start would be even possible and I had to find out that its impossible to start the engine.
I've tried varying cranking enrichment, as well as cranking Airflow and even changed the values for the minium throttle blade opening on the dbw throttle body, I've also reduced the cranking ignition angle to 5 degrees, but nothing seems to help, the engine doesn't even fire once.
Yesterday I used a basemap from Ecumaster for the SR 20 both ignition as well as VE, but after noticing the engine kept flooding I went back to a basic VE table using 50% VE everywhere as well as the 15-10-8 degree ignition map Andre shows in the efi tuning courses.
When using the basemap yesterday I got it to fire once a few times, and I even reached afterstart, but then the engine died, so I'm guessing Afterstart enrichment was either to rich or too lean. After trying a few more times without any fire I pulled the plugs and noticed the engine was flooded.
I let it sit overnight to dry out, and tried again today using the 50% Ve map, but right now nothing seems to happen at all.
Honestly I'm at a complete loss here and don't even know what else to try. I don't want to keep flooding the engine, since it's freshly rebuilt and am scared washing out the cylinders so many times will hurt the ring seating and eventually kill the engine. Does anybody know where I could start to fix the issue? Help would be greatly appreciated since it's already super frustrating because the engine was already running pretty well..
Thanks in advance,
Cheers
Alright so after trying again for a bit, I got the engine to fire a few times and it almost started. Ive added a screenshot of the log from this attempt.
Everytime the EMU transitions from cranking state to afterstart(ecu state 2->3), the engine dies.
The afterstart enrichment basically follows the same graph as the ecu state, thats why its invisible.
It seems to me that the map values are all over the place although the throttle body opening stays the same, also the injectors opening times seem to follow the same trend as the rpm, just a little sooner? So might the engine be starving of fuel since the dc value follows the same trend as rpm?
At the same time the Injector pulse width seems all over the place as well, I honestly would expect the same graph as with the inj dc.
