Hi everyone! Could you tell me, am I understand right that VE depends on all restrictions through the intake and exhaust?

For example, does closed throttle affect VE?

Volumetric efficiency is the equivalent of how well engine is breathing throughout the entire RPM range. It represents the efficiency of components chosen and translates to soecific percentage of cylinder filling by air/fuel mixture comparing to theoretical 100 percent. The answer to your question is yes, changing any component may have an affect on actual cylinder filling at some RPM area thus changine the VE there... This is the general idea of what VE is...

Thank you,Shota! Tell me please, for example i change air filter (lets say stock one is very restrictive) and improved VE. But, as far as i understand I also raised MAP a bit (less restriction through the intake). Since that i am running in the next MAP cell with more VE, because MAP number is more than stock now.

The question is why do we need to correct fuel in that case?

You don't necessarily have to add fuel but check and ensure that your air/fuel mixture is correct and accurate ( actual lambda matches commanded lambda). It also depends on ECU and number of features it has. Some of them have an option of closed loop operation and would compensate for changing in VE automatically, but some would require doing it manually...
