Hi all,

I have already watch the cam degree course and I wanted to ask if someone use other methods to degree the cams.

can someone explain the process where at tdc the valve lift is measured ? Could it be a “fast check” ?

on the other hand, is it possible to check valve lift at pms on a non assembled head with stock timing marks and then reproducing that lift at pms with the timing belt on the final assembled engine?

I hope that I’ve explained myself well.

Thank you

Yes, you can do it that way, some manufacturers may even give the camshaft lift at TDC, and sometimes where the camshaft has both intake and exhaust lobes on the same shaft, they're set up to have equal lift at TDC - sometimes called split timing.

If I read your latter part correctly, you can set the timing during the dummy build with just one piston for checking TDC, and one set of valves for checking the lift timing - or with all ringless pistons and valves with very light, testing, springs to check clearances at the same time.

Generalmente respondemos dentro de las 12 horas (a menudo antes)
