Hi

I am building a YB Cosworth engine and putting it into a mark 2 Ford Escort. And I’m just looking for information on what are the best sensors I can get I E oil temperature and pressure, fuel pressure, water temperature, boost pressure and lambda. The car is going to be running an ECU master ECU. The engine will have a coil on plug conversion done electronic throttle and also an electric water pump fitted I am hoping for around 380 to 400 bhp. I just want to build the engine once not to be messing with sensors over and over again. Any help appreciated thanksg

Hi Shane, most of the modern sensors are pretty good quality these days so you shouldn't have too much trouble. For oil and fuel pressure I like to use the 0-150 psi stainless body honeywell sensors. For oil and water temp the Bosch 026 sensor is fine but there are a variety with different threads that may be a better option depending on the thread for the hole they will go into.

With MAP sensors there's a variety of options that will depend on your mounting options. If you're running the EMU Black then it has onboard MAP just FYI so a MAP sensor isn't essential. Otherwise you may want to consider some of the bosch TMAP sensors that include both temp and pressure. They require a little more thought to mount though.

Check out MSEL's options here - [url=https://www.msel.co.nz/epages/motorsportelectronics.sf/en_NZ/?ObjectPath=/Shops/motorsportelectronics/Categories/Sensors]https://www.msel.co.nz/epages/motorsportelectronics.sf/en_NZ/?ObjectPath=/Shops/motorsportelectronics/Categories/Sensors

All the listed sensors are quality options and you will likely be able to find a local supplier (or at least one in Europe) if you don't want to buy from NZ.
