I know this is a dumb question but I am trying to remove these wire loom clips that are on the frame of my STI. There is no access to the actual mushroom underneath it to just pinch the wings together. How should I go about getting it out? I attached a picture to it below.

I use one of these panel removal tools. I also have plastic ones but they often struggle to do the job.
Those clips often break, especially with age
My experience is that those are single use items, once they are in they do not tend to come out nicely, if at all. If you do happen to get them to come out, they are usually too damaged to reuse as the "Christmas Trees" will be bent in the wrong direction, so they will not provide the required seating force to hold them in place correctly.
