Looking for any suggestion for priming the oil pump. Freshly built motor. isn't building any pressure cranking. I have pulled the oil pressure sensor and am running a gauge for the moment. Just looking for any thoughts or suggestions

Have you removed the spark plugs so it cranks at the maximum available speed?

Yes, Sadly not even jiggle on the needle.

Can you remove the oil filter and squirt oil into the center pipe? That is usually the output from the pressure pump, and if you can get oil to flow back to the pump, perhaps it will seal enough to allow it to pick up oil. Fill the oil filter with oil before putting it back on. Will be messy, but do the best you can and just clean it up. Do you have your battery on a charger so you have maximum power to crank?

Can you remove the pan/pump and fill the pump with oil before re-installing?

Finally, are you sure the engine is assembled correctly? Sometimes a difficulty is your subconscious telling you to remember something you've forgotten (final torque on fasteners, gasket installed upside down, missing oil pump O-ring, missing wrist pin clips, etc).

David has hit just about all the opions, 'least way that I can also think off.

Oil pump prime can be a real PITA, but it helps if you pre-pack the oil pump with a light general purpose grease, as it helps seal the pump internals' clearances which would otherwise allow air to pass through the gaps. maybe next time.

You can buy a rather neat pressurisible (if that's a word) tank like this - https://www.ebay.com/itm/396125688661 but unless you're a pro-builder it may be a bit much.

Being 'careful' with my money, a much simpler and chearer 'tool' is to stop at your local hardware store and pick up a female hose fitting that will screw onto the block's oil gallery fitting and that will also accept the matching oil container's clear plastic hose.

Usually I just give a good squeeze, turn the engine over a lit by hand, squeeze more in, turn the engine over a bit, squeeze etc.

This worked well on an engine that had been sitting a while, but should work for you.

It also gives a few other options, like confirming if the pump is actually picking up/pumping oil.

Thank you for your suggestions. Spent my afternoon going over it and cranking it as much as I'm willing to for the moment with no sign of pressure. I decided to take a piece of Gord's advice ordered a primer setup ( https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-901164-kit ) was a little cheaper plus I could get a -4an to bps adapter while I was at it for under 200. No such thing as to much if it means having the right tool bought or Made. I'll share how things went once it comes in later this week. Gord and David thank you for your input. hope you both had a Excellent weekend.
