Just following through on this tutorial and found that currently the (Not for Commercial Use) version of Fusion 360 doesn't allow the "Edit in Place" function. A subscription is required to use this function.
Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately they keep changing these things from when we recorded the course.
We are planning to refresh the CAD course next year, so i'll be sure to account for this.
Just to be clear - incase anyone is wondering - without "edit in place" that just means you need to open that external component separately and then modify it and save the changes then update that in your assembly.
