This is really confusing. And since I can't attach pictures, I'm going to have to describe it. The training keeps showing stuff that isn't in my Fusion360. For instance, the trainer is currently showing datums and showing something on the screen at the 1:08 mark that looks like a peace symbol overlaid a light orange box. I have nothing like that. Why doesn't the training match the software?

What you're talking about is the "origin" or the default planes, axis and origin points.
Just before 1:08 you'll hear me explain exactly what is going on.
Make the Origin visible from the browser and you'll also be able to see it in the centre of the workspace.
Not only that, but once you get past extrusion...the speed of things is much too fast for people who have zero hands on experience.
