I am using i2 pro to look at lines I have taken from consecutive laps from a recent race for a given corner. I would like to add an overlay of a satellite view of the track so that I see how each path relates to track edge and landmarks. Is this possible ?

Yes, this can be done. I believe the option is found under the Properties for the GPS Track object (right-click on the GPS map, and choose Properties...). In this old post on the MoTeC support forum I posted an example showing multiple lines, so you can get an idea of what's possible.
