Hi all, I've watched the course and then read through the forum, but I am having a bit of a hard time working out the current draw for 8x IGN1A coils. This is a V-8 with 1 coil per cylinder that I hope to run with a Nexus R5. The Nexus R5 PDM portion has 4x 25A outputs and I hope to be able to run all 8 coils on one 25A channel so I have room for 2x cooling fans and 1x fuel pump. The engine will never see more than 7000 RPM. Is that enough information to determine if it is a viable plan?
I suspect you will draw less than 10A average. I've looked at some data running a V8 to 6800 RPM, and see max current of 7.8A on a V8. I have it on a 20A output on the MoTeC PDM, and that's where the current measurement came from.
