I'd like to interface my VW MK7 Golf Steering wheel to a Motec C1212 Display. The wiring out of the Multi-Function Steering Wheel calls for a LIN connection and from my internet research, its a one-wire system with both transmit and receive occurring over that wiring. My question is can I connect both the TX and RX wires coming off the display to the one wire to the LIN and successfully transmit and receive messages?
No, the Motec RS-232 only supports the RS-232 standard, not the LIN protocol.
