Hey Guys.

My name is Charles. I'm an ex-car guys and still racecar driver. I have a startup that build radar system for excavator. We need to make a harness to connect both side of the radar. I'm doing it race specs mode because the construction industry is almost the same as a race car.

I need to get 2 Rf cables from one side to the other side of the harness. They are 5.25mm each. I was planning on using them as a core, maybe sleeving them in their own Raychem. My problem is that using 2x 5.5mm doesn’t make a very round core. It looks like a rectangle almost. I can fit a third one and use it as a spare in case of failure. Anyone tried to use 2 big cables as a core before that look like a rectangle ?

I would love to see an example of this done as well. I ran into this on my project - I was trying to use wiring from an off the shelf harness kit and they had similarly large bundles for the cam/crank/knock leads. I did a few tests and ultimate I was so dissatisfied with how the core was turning out that I gave up and ordered the proper Tefzel shielded leads to replace them.

In my case I had four of the bundles and neither adding a fifth nor going down to three was even remotely acceptable. Depending on how flexible yours are, I can imagine it working but since I am a novice doing my first harness I opted to save myself the headache.
