I am working on a wire harness and it asks for the cam position and the map sensor to connect and then connect to the pcm. Should I continue with running 3 sheilded wires and then splicing it out of the sheilding to one one of the sheilded or what’s the best way of going about this? The wire diagram says cam position 11,12 splice into map sensor and connect to the pcm under VOLTAGE REFERENCE ENGINE (VREF) also asks for a splice out for 3 other sensors for the signal return on the map sensor please help :(

I'm not sure if I understand the question and you didn't mentioned what ECU or engine you're working on, but it's normal that you need to splice 5v+ Ref and sensor grounds to many sensors. This is usually done at a branch point in the wiring harness or behind the ECU connectors, whatever is the most simple. Then you need to connect the signal of each sensors to an input of your ECU. You can splice all the shields together to a wire and ground it, again usually done at the ECU side.

I’m workin g on a wire harness for a ford focus st the ecu isent what I’m wiring I am wiring the power train control module the (pcm) I am going to attach a link look for 2015-2018 pictures 4 in the center you will see the manifold, absolute pressure sensor and you will see what I’m saying is that looks normal please explain how you would wire it up thanks man!"2015-2018 picture 3"

This is what I’m looking at should I run three sheilded wires and connect the cam positions to the map sensor and run that to the pcm?
