i just bought 2nd hand crimper and the th1a head when i insert and crimp size 16contact it has no problem but when i try to insert size 20 the contact doesn't sit flush and go past the crimp area on the crimper. what should i do now. did i just broke the turret head

Usually this is from a burr on the turret head where the contact goes in. This is usually caused when some releases the turret head before opening the tool.
Can usually clean it up quickly with a needle file
