Hi all,
I’ve just pulled the outer braid off a brand-new wiring adapter and found soem concerns, see attached image:
The VR1 and VR2 wires (grey-sheathed shielded pairs) are properly covered for most of their length, but the last ~100 mm before the Ampseal has the outer sheath cut back and the braid is exposed and slightly frayed/damaged (bare strands visible). I’m seeing intermittent sync loss and messy tooth-logger traces, so I suspect this section is potentially a cause?
What’s the best way to repair / reinstate proper shielding on these two pairs without desoldering / replacing the wires out of the adapter? I can't go back to the maker, too far away and not responding to questions as it is.
If someone with experience could feedback on how to fix this, and if it's highly likely to be creating sensor issues, I'd be very grateful.
