Is there something specific to Raychem SCL dual wall heat shrink that makes it preferable for booting, or will good quality Amazon dual wall adhesive heat shrink perform just as well?
Is "good quality Amazon" an oxymoron?
It depends on what the conditions youre exposing the 'good quality Amazon' heat shrink to. I've helped people that have run DR25 on their main trunks and then terminated using knock off SCL. In most cases its fine, but if it sees fuel it turns to goop over time.
Good to know. I don't expect my harness to get fuel on it with any regularity, but accidents do happen. I will just plan to order some Raychem once I have my harness far enough along that I can measure sizes.
