Hi all. I have a PMU16 and Link G5 Neo 4 powering a K20. I'm working through my pin mapping on the PMU and am trying to work out the safest way to avoid back feeding the ECU. This is a list of the engine entities that need power and connect directly to the ECU (i.e. no relay)

Injectors

Coils

VTEC solenoid

VTC solenoid

Lambda (wideband LSU 4.9)

Crank position sensor

Intake cam position sensor

Exhaust cam position sensor

Coolant temp sensor

Intake air temp sensor

Reverse lockout solenoid

Alternator excite

My original plan had the engine functions split across 2 outputs then a separate "electronics" output to power the ECU, ADU, keypad etc. I then changed to power the ECU through one of the engine outputs. My concern with this was if the output for the electronics tripped and the engine output pins were still live then the ECU could be back fed, i.e. from the lambda?

Is there a safe way to manage this? I would think I could pair the outputs in the PMU software so if one failed then the other also shutdown? Apologies if this was covered elsewhere, I couldn't find much information about it.

I would just have the logic for all sources for potentional backfeeding, conditioned on the ECU main power output being active (i.e. not faulted, or turned off).
