if we delete the cats do we have to turn off the long term fuel trim? doesn't that work of the second o2s aka the down stream
Only on some cars, but the downstream o2's I believe are most often just to verify to cats are working, so if the cat's are deleted I would turn off all the associated dtc's for them and the downstream o2's as well. Turning off LTFT is something I do on most things as well, but that's not specifically due to the cats being gone.
Depending on the state you live in, you may find it wise to check on the legislation, as there can be some quite harsh penalties if/when you get caught.
