I own a 2021 Toyota Tacoma 3.5L AT (3rd Gen Tacoma). I purchased this truck because I totaled my 2008 Tacoma Sport 4.0L AT (2nd Gen Tacoma).
Knowing of the 'gear hunting" issue the 3rd Gen's have, I drove the truck for a year until the gear hunting was too annoying. I contacted KDMAX to tune my truck, the tune addresses the gear hunt as well as adding about 20 HP and 29 LB/FT torque. It also increases throttle response. The local tuner did not reply to my inquiries so I contacted KDMAX directly. To make a long story forever, I am now a third party tuner (E-tuner) for KDMAX. I basically load the appropriate tune, which is sent to me, to the corresponding vehicle. I basically know nothing about the tune other than the process to flash it.
I wish to learn how to tune and have the proper knowledge to answer customers questions with proper/correct answers.
