Hi
I work now on LS2 400hp Corvette C6. Im not familiar with changing range of work for VVT. Stock it is 5500-6000, im thinking about change that range to 5300-6200 but not sure about any damage if i go to early / to late with VVT working on.
Is possible to get any damage on valves? I suppose it can get less performance if go too far but not sure about another possible problems.

By design, Variable Valve Timing should be mechanically limited so that a software or hardware failure won't cause piston to valve contact.
So at worse you lose power or drivability, but perhaps you can improve it.
Try it and see what the dyno says..
As long as you keep it within the OEM range, you'll be fine - V2P clearance is dependent on the camshaft to crankshaft timing, not the rpm.
Unless, of course, you wind it tight enough to run into valve float/bounce, where thay may be a small risk.
