Has anyone swapped an 8HP into a late model Camaro? I am considering options for my next project, and one consideration is whether or not I would be able to swap an 8HP into a late model Camaro. I know there are aftermarket controllers for the transmission (e.g. TurboLamik), but I don't know how one would handle the OEM ECM needed to keep the engine, gauges, everything else functional.
Just thinking out loud here, I guess one option is to start with a manual car. That may liimit the inputs needed from the transmission that the OEM ECU is looking for. Then I could use a standalone transmission controller alongside the OEM ECU. I am not sure if the OEM controller has enough flexibility to work this way.
