Hey whats going on?
I am tuninh my 03 350z with forged 8.5.1 pistons and forged rods, running a procharger set up on 14 psi. I have 2 step colder plugs gapped at .025, a good air to fuel ratio using uprev software. I just cant seem to get rid of knock. My timing from 3500-4800 has to be set at 5-6 btdc or it will knock. 5k to 6200 i am at 9-10 degrees and it feels like it has some power there. And if i do a power break or drift the car it gets detonation. Ran the engine with no supercharger and ran it hard, no knock, ran on 7 psi no knock.
I am just wondering if it is false knock because it feels like a dog until 5k rpms.
Any input wouls help (cough cough Andre)
Have you confirmed that this is in fact knock by using audio knock detection? Or are you relying on the logging of the ECU to confirm this?
I was relying on the ecu. I dont have a knock listening device yet. Maybe that should be my next investment.
I might have the wrong plugs, so waiting on thr new ones to see if that helps! Ill keep posted
