So i have a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado with 504,000 km on it.
It has a 3.7 liter inline 5cyl.
i had to replace air box with a cold air intake and since then it runs hot and throws codes of “lean bank one”
I’ve replaced the thermostat with a 187 degree one and replaced the water pump.
yet it still runs hotter than i think it should.
The throttle position sensor is also shot so I am ordering a new throttle body and sensor (no choice unserviceable)
this is just a project for an old man unable to work I’m not expecting miracles just want to have some fun with it.
I also added a throttle controller which I think killed the position sensor.
im new to tuning but I’m under the impression that this is a tuneable engine.
Anyone have comments or suggestions?
Dan,
Yes your truck is supported by HPTuners. You will definitely want to rescale your MAF sensor due to modifying the intake tract. If you replace the throttle body you'll also want to get the data from the manufacturer to plug into the respective calibration maps unless you can get a 100% OEM throttle body, even still you may want to get the respective data and enter it in to your throttle body parameters with whatever tuning software you end up using.
