I'm building 1.6 ford ztec with an gt3076r turbo on it and full methanol and looking at running royal purple oil but what would be the best oil and spec to run
That's a tricky question for anyone to be able to answer as it will depend on the factory specification for oil weight and what you've done in terms of bearing clearances. I also haven't run royal purple so i'm not aware of their range intimately. A quick google suggests that the factory spec is a 5W30 and there's probably nothing wrong with this if you're using a quality synthetic. If you find the oil pressure is a little lower than you desire I wouldn't hesitate to swap to a 10W40.
